Lactobacillus sporogenes
Detailed Product Description
They begin to proliferate in the small intestine, multiplying rapidly. These cells in the intestinal tract produce L(+) Lactic acid and bacteriocins depriving the growth of pathogenic bacteria. In addition, these spores being semi resident are slowly excreted out of the body (10 to 12 days) after discontinuation of administration and thus possess the ideal characteristics of a drug without causing side effects.
Lactobacillus Sporogenes plays an important role in the cholesterol metabolism of their host. Intestinal Bacteria have been shown to convert cholesterol into a less absorbable form (coprostanol), thus hampering its absorption from the intestinal tract.
